PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The following list is a summary of the products contained in our camping department. In all categories we also sell the appropriate accessories and paraphernalia. This list is by no means complete and is just a rough summary. If you have any questions about specific items or brands, do not hesitate to contact us.

TENTS

We carry a wide selection of over 50 tents - from ultra light weight one man shelters to large family sized (in-laws included) luxury tents. Every tent we sell is waterproof and designed to excel at its specific purpose. We sell tents from Asolo, Big Agnes, Chinook, Eureka !, Kelty, North Trail, Outbound and Outdoor Works.  In addition we sell a range of tarps, emergency shelters, bivy tents, screen houses and carports as well as pole and material repair kits.

SLEEPING BAGS

A good nights sleep while camping is a must, and that is why we at Capital Iron are dedicated to making sure you have the best sleep possible. We sell sleeping bags designed for every season and any purpose from summer car camping to extended backpacking or winter trips. Our bags contain many types of fills such as hydrophobic, space filling, insulation by PrimaLoft and Polarguard Delta, regular synthetic fills such as QuadraTherm and Thinsulite and natural down. (Check out Big Agnes' hybrid down + water repelling Primaloft bags!) Available in men's and ladies fit, rectangular, tapered, barrel or mummy we have the perfect bag for you. Companies include Asolo, Big Agnes, Chinook, Eureka !, and Outbound. We also sell sleeping bag liners out of cotton, synthetics and silk, as well as waterproof bivy sacks.

SLEEPING PADS & MATTRESSES

To remain warm and comfortable a sleeping pad is a must. Whether it is a cheap closed cell foam matt from Outbound and ThermaRest, economical self inflating pads from Chinook, lightweight self inflating pads from Eureka and ThermaRest or the ultimate Primaloft insulted, 2.5" thick, lightweight pads from Big Agnes, we will make your nights comfortable! We also carry conventional 6” thick air mattresses in single, double and queen sizes, with hand, foot, battery, car adapter or AC pumps to pump them up.

STOVES & POTS

We carry a range of incredibly compact propane/butane burning stoves for easy use and light weight by Primus, Brunton and Camping Gaz. We carry casual to multifuel expedition white gas stoves from MSR, Brunton, Coleman and Primus. For the car camper, a range of larger stoves is available by Coleman, Yanes and Thunder Range . We have strong stainless steel pot sets, lightweight hard anodized aluminum pot sets and ultralight (and strong!) titanium pots available in various sizes by Primus, Brunton, Outbound and Chinook.

LIGHTING

Backpacking fuel lanterns from Camping Gaz and Brunton. Large fuel camp lanterns from Coleman and Yanes. Headlamps from Princeton Tec, Brunton, and economically priced brands. Battery powered lanterns and numerous flashlights from MagLite, Princeton Tec and many others.

PACKS

From 5 litre day bags to 100 litre expedition packs or specially designed travel bags, we have the pack for you. With over 70 packs from Kelty, Lowe Alpine, Karrimor, Asolo, Granite Gear, Outbound, Eureka!, Infinity Sports, North Trail, and Chinook we have the bag for every fit and every purpose. As the paramount thing to look for in a pack is the perfect fit, our friendly staff can help to custom fit the pack to your specific back, load it up with weights and ultimately find the perfect pack for you. We invite you to take home any pack that interests you, load it up with all your gear, and try it out around your house and the block to make sure that it is in fact the perfect fit pack.

COOLERS

We carry a wide selection of coolers and insulated items from Coleman and Igloo.

HAMMOCKS

From cheap cloth hammocks to large double woven hammocks, from light weight parachute nylon to Hennessy Hammock's hanging tent/hammock hybrids we have the perfect hammock to ensure your complete comfort. Foot massages and cold drinks not included. Also available are stands and attachment accessories.

WATER PURIFICATION & HYDRATION

Remaining healthy is of extreme importance, and very much our concern. As such, we carry chemical water treatment systems by Pristine, and filtration systems by Katadyn, MSR and First Needs. Stay hydrated with our hydration systems by Kelty, MSR, Platypus and Asolo. Nalgene bottles of every shape, style (and of course colour!) are also available.

KNIVES & TOOLS

One should never be without a good knife! We carry knives from Boker's Magnum division, Gerber and several economically priced brands. For multitools we carry products by Victorinox, Leatherman and Gerber.

TRAVEL

We carry all the stuff for going traveling such as travel packs, travel sleeping bags, money belts, passport holders, sew on Canadian flags, travel towels, luggage tags, locks, compression straps, waterproof pouches etc..etc..etc.

CLOTHING

Capital Iron has an entire clothing department, much of which is oriented towards outdoor leisure or work products. For footwear we carry a large range of hiking boots, CSA approved work boots, trail shoes, sandals and gum boots. In rainwear we carry lines of waterproof /breathable jackets and pants as well as both light and heavy grade PVC rainwear. We carry all the quick dry, base layer, insulated wear and fleece tops and bottoms you need to get outdoors. In addition we have a good selection of casual and work wear products.
